ESN Akademi Publishing:  Multilingual Publications, Global Connections

In 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esin ESEN founded ESN Akademi as an academic center for her transdisciplinary work. The center operates through specialized units for Research, Publishing, Education. It also serves as a platform for international events and exhibitions.

The publishing division, ESN Akademi Publishing, is built upon the publication portfolio of Esin Esen. Launching with a foundation of over 100 titles, the press continues to expand its diverse collection, which features works supported by the Japan Foundation and those acquired by the Turkish Ministry of Culture for public libraries

International, Multidisciplinary and Multilingual Works

ESN Akademi Publishing presents international, multidisciplinary, and multilingual specialized works, focusing on Japanese Studies-Turkish Studies as well as translation studies. The books include the works of around 300 contributors, including academics, artists, and experts in their fields, from Turkey, Japan, and other countries. The publication languages are English, Japanese, Spanish, and Turkish. The portfolio includes bilingual and trilingual works.

Publications consist of two main categories: academic and public scholarship works.

1) ESN Akademi / Academic Publications

This category is built on multidisciplinary works covering the academic fields of history, literature, linguistics, sociology, philosophy, anthropology, visual arts, and educational sciences in the context of Japanese studies and Turkish studies as well as translation studies. Starting in 2026, the focus has expanded to Digital Humanities. Multilingual editions with global distribution help these works achieve international visibility.

New academic submissions go through a detailed evaluation, peer-review, and editorial process. Additionally, the press republishes essential out-of-print works on Japanese Studies, Translation Studies, and related fields to revive them for the scholarly record in the digital era.

2) ESN Akademi / Public Scholarship Publications

The publishing house is committed to public scholarship, believing that making specialized knowledge accessible to society is a vital responsibility of academics to shape global and social development. For this purpose, ESN Akademi publishes the works of academics, experts, artists and translators for a general audience in multiple languages. These works prioritize clarity and accessibility without compromising intellectual depth, ensuring that insights from Japanese-Turkish and translation studies reach a broader international audience.

Our wish is for these works to find their place in libraries, remaining for future generations.
