Esin ESEN PhD CV

SHORT PROFILE

Esin Esen. Japanologist, presented her PhD on Man’yōshū – the reader responsibility approach and cognitive poetics theory. She specialized in Japanese language and literature, cognitive translation and Japanese women’s literature (Nara-Heian Periods). She translated Murasaki Shikibu Nikki into Turkish from classical Japanese and Sasameyuki by famous Japanese writer Tanizaki. She has been translating since the 1990s (Japanese, Spanish and English). She also teaches translation courses at university level in these languages. Board member of Japanese Studies Association of Istanbul between 2014-2017. Founder of Kotodama Istanbul.
